Qānūn-i-Humāyūnī (also known as Humāyūn Nāma) of K̲h̲wāndamīr (died A.H. 942, A.D. 1535), a work on the rules and ordinances established by the emperor Humāyūn and on some buildings erected by his order. Translated with explanatory notes by Baini Prashad

Giyasuddin Muhammad alias Khvandamir wrote this book. Khvandamir was born in Heart in A.D. 1475. He visited India in 1528 and joined the court of Babar. After the death of Babar, Humayun patronized him and instructed him to write this book. It contains detailed description of the three years of Humayun’s reign. It also throws light on the rules and regulations of Humayun’s times, his love for astrology and his achievements in the field of architecture. The character and personality of Humayun has also been depicted in this significant book.
