A book on astronomy and Ismaili history compiled during the life-time of Hasan-i Sabbāh, founder of Nizārī Ismaili movement in Iran- a work one may expect to have been burned by the historian of the Mongol period 'Atā Malik Juwaynī- regained a new lease of life in 1883 when Martijn Theodor Houtsma (d. 1943), used the book extensively in the compilation of his introduction to the History of Ibn Wādih al-Ya'qūbī.
